Nathan was called to the bar in 2019 and practices predominantly in family law, domestic violence, criminal and civil law matters. He is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.

  • Nathan was admitted as a legal practitioner in 2010, commencing practice at the private Bar in 2019.

    Nathan regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and State Courts. His practice is predominantly in family law, domestic violence, estates litigation, and civil law matters.

    Nathan maintains memberships in both the Northern Territory and Tasmanian Bar associations and is pleased to assist in matters throughout Australia.

    Nathan is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) who is often requested to mediate in family law, civil, employment and estate disputes. Nathan’s alternative dispute resolution practice also includes mediating throughout regional Queensland and developing an Adult Restorative Justice Conferencing (Justice mediations) practice, where those mediations are suitable.

    Although his mediation practice is not limited to family disputes, Nathan was recognised in the 2025 Doyles Guide ‘Leading Family Law Mediators – Regional Queensland’ as a recommended mediator, being among the mediators practicing and operating across various Regional Queensland legal markets who were identified by the State’s family law solicitors for their expertise and abilities in family law.

    Prior to coming to the Bar, Nathan served as a Naval Officer, Infantry Officer, and Legal Officer in the Australian Defence Force. He also previously served the State of Queensland as a Constable in the Queensland Police Service. Nathan understands keenly the effects of service-life and is often briefed to assist current or former serving personnel as an advocate or mediator.

    Nathan completed legal training at Bond University, graduating a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in criminology and international relations. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Charles Sturt University.

    When not otherwise engaged in legal work, Nathan has a keen interest in assisting the development of the next generation of lawyers. Known for his personable and approachable demeanour, in 2024 Nathan, as an associate professor taught the Negotiation subject at Bond University. He is also a Sessional Academic at the Queensland University of Technology, assisting the practical legal training team develop and mentor graduating law students.

    Outside of law, Nathan is a keen adventurer and motorcycle enthusiast, regularly exploring the best South-East Queensland has to offer in both capacities.
